Catching up with projects.

Haven't blogged in a couple weeks, here's what I've been up to.

I finally finished the harlequins. Here we have the last two and the Solitare. Just flock and paint the rim of the base and done done.

Group shot

Here we have my executioners that had been based on 25s, and I didn't feel like completely rebasing. These are the converter rings from secret weapon miniatures. You see the two on the wood litko bases on the bottom right. I tried just cutting away the rim and plopping them on there as they have very little debris like the rest. There a test. The rings didn't get snug like I wanted so there will be a lot of little gap filling with them. I'll have to turn this into a future post when I start work on them.

The pieces to a krios battle tank, and an unhelpful minion.

One of the now fully assembled castellax automata.

Lastly I have been working on an illustrated logo for my friend MP Johnson's first publishing venture. Finished with a whole day to spare. This is right before digital clean up. First fully drawing I've done in months, really have to correct that.

Clowns & Robots

So I'm setting into three of the large projects before fairly well, keeping momentum in all. First the harlequins.

Here we have the next four finished except for the basing, which I'll do once the next three are done.

Next we have a mechanicus army I will be assembling for my friend Jake, which he will then send off to some foreign bloke. That's what they call each other over there, or at least what I've learned from television. I decided to start nice and easy, with the thralls. Three pieces including the base.

Most of the arms required me to boil water, and refit the arms. Dipping the arms by holding the gun barrel and a few seconds, ready to go. Insert on to the body, squeeze, dip in cold water, and you've got a nice fit, already to go.

Lastly terrain for the Renegade Open, as master of all things foam, and paint for the event I have a lot to do before the first weekend of December. But I do have minions this, and a better pre-determined path. In total I want to have ninety pieces done to make us fully independent, no burrowed pieces. On that path I finally got a hot wire cutter yesterday. It isn't the fanciest one but it should speed up some process. Here we see my early experiments working on my form.

On a final note here is a link to the Realms of Chaos 80s blog. This post is a collection of photos of Tony Acklands art from a recent old hammer event in England. Mr. Acklands madness brought forth with pencil, an example of one of the depraved minds that created the greatness of warhammer. Games Workshop's artist today simply have too much sanity.

Projects, projects, projects.

Now that my summer class is done, and I have a month before school starts again let's see if I can get back to posting on here again with regularity.

So first here is the small blood claw unit I made for WaaaghFest! along with Vidar. First you see the pack markings before and after cleaning. I tried to get a demonstration on how I do these free hand pack markings. Of course I forgot to take a photo of the penciled in marks before paint.

And the finished unit.

Hopefully this picture also shows I have better lighting in my new apartment.

Next are the long over due harlequins. They are priority right now to get caught up and done. Only seven left from this first batch. I'll base them all at once when finished.

On the to do list I have an unfinished bane blade, knight titan, caestus assault ram, a Horus Hersey mechanicus army to assemble, and some my own models. Too many, oh so too many of my own projects. Did I mention Adepticon is only 244 days away.

Adepticon day 2, Badab War

Here we have a golden demon entry from last year, from Tyler Mengel. So happy he brought for the crystal brush competition, since then I got to see it.

Here we have a selection of the tables I built for the event, and some of the action that took place. I changed up the tables after every game to reflect the mission and its corresponding historical event.

This was my favorite table and mission of the event "The Angstorm Incident"

And here we have Tyler's completed astral claws at the time. He will be helping a little for next years two day event. I may also be helping him with a related project in the near future as well.

And we have the first harlequin I'm working on for my friend Andrew.
